Collecting your own children?

You are currently viewing Collecting your own children?

I get it… as a parent of 2 kids, I get it…
Why should someone else collect my kids when I can do it myself?

I’d love to hear your side to this.

COVID has definitely changed the way many of us work, with many businesses now making use of home offices. So, if you’re one of these parents, have you had a think about the cost/s of dropping off / collecting your own child/ren? Over and above the running cost of your vehicle, you have your own costs to be aware of. This is especially true with consultants, contractors, self-employed people, and others. If you haven’t yet done a calculation for your running costs only, click the CALCULATOR below to check it out, you might surprise yourself?

Your vehicle costs calculator

Now remember, this calculation only takes the running costs of your vehicle into consideration. It doesn’t include these factors:

  • Sitting in traffic at the schools (especially in the afternoons);
  • Leaving the car to idle while waiting in the queue;
  • Running the aircon on a warm day while waiting in queue;
  • Your time.

Whilst you may or may not see the value of outsourcing your school run to a legal operator (what makes a scholar transport operator legal – COMING SOON) – it might be worth at least just giving it a try? It is almost guaranteed to save you money… but more than that, it could also save you a lot of time and frustration.

No more clock watching or scheduling meetings around your school run.

Imagine being able to go about your daily routine and then your child or children simply arriving at home? Or, being in town for a meeting, job, interview, quote, delivery, etc… and not having to worry about being at school to collect (yes, you may just need to be home to receive your child if they’re still young or there’s no caretaker at home). Outsourcing can give you a lot of freedom that you’re not used to, or didn’t know that you could have.

Whilst I only operate in the Blouberg (Cape Town) area, there are scholar operators that operate at all schools around the country.

For a list of my schools and areas, please check out this page: kidslifts.co.za/schools

Again, as mentioned above, I would love to hear your feedback on this subject 🙂

I will be adding a blog shortly that will help you to ask the right / relevant questions when meeting up with a new scholar transport operator. So keep an eye out for that too! Please make contact directly with me if you’d like to get your hands on that copy sooner than later.
